Over such simple things as a sable hat wars are fought... |
The year is 1760 and the dissident province of Nizhny Bublik has decided to try and break away from the great and glorious Principality of Velikye Byelgorodniya. To this end, its citizens have taken down the Prince’s flag and have replaced it with a sable hat perched atop the flagpole in the marketplace as a gesture of defiance. Inspired by this courageous act of self-determination, the people of The Grand Duchy of Saxe-Coburn und Buchholz have risen in popular support of their Northern cousins.
Both states now claim ownership to the province, the Principality referring to it as Nizhny Bublik or "Lower Donut" and hence the conflict as The Wars of the Nizhny Bublik Secession. The Grand Duchy refers to it as Oberer Süßen Bagel or "Upper Sweet Bagel" and consequently the conflict as Der Krieg für Oberen Süßen Bagel.
History will remember this war under the name given by the winner....
